From the Kitchen to the Campfire: Why We Launched Moreno Mobile RV in San Antonio

If you had asked me five years ago where I’d be today, I probably would have said "in a commercial kitchen."
For 15 years, I ran a catering company. I spent my days obsessing over details, managing tight timelines, and serving people. But when the world changed in 2020, my wife and I decided it was time to change with it. We did what a lot of dreamers do: we sold everything we owned, bought a brand new RV, and hit the road to explore the Western United States.
That trip changed our lives—but not in the way we expected.
The "Brand New" RV Nightmare
We learned a hard lesson somewhere between Texas and the Pacific: "Brand New" doesn't mean "Problem Free."
Despite driving a factory-fresh rig, we were constantly battling failures. Bad plumbing, electrical gremlins, cabinets shaking loose, and "fit and finish" issues that would make a carpenter cry.
We faced the choice every RVer faces:
Drag the rig to a dealership and wait 3 months for warranty work while our trip gets cancelled.
Figure it out myself.
I’ve always been the kid who took broken radios apart just to see how they worked. I’ve always been mechanically inclined. So, I opened the tool bag. I didn’t just patch things; I learned why they failed. I realized that fixing these machines wasn't a chore for me—it was a puzzle I loved solving.
Why We Built Moreno Mobile RV
After we settled back in San Antonio, we realized there was a massive gap in the market. The RV industry is great at selling units, but it struggles to support the people driving them.
We decided to combine our two biggest strengths to fix that:
The Tech: I became a Registered RV Technician to ensure I wasn't just a "handyman," but a professional who follows industry standards. My superpower isn't just turning a wrench; it's the relentless drive to find the right information to solve any problem.
The Service: My wife, Ursula, is a customer service expert. She knows that when your AC dies in July, you don't want a voicemail—you want a human being who cares.
The Jeep & The Hill Country
You won’t see us pulling up in a clunky white fleet van. We are "car people" at heart. We run our service calls out of a rugged, custom-maintained Jeep.
Why? Because we love the Texas Hill Country. Whether you are camped down a gravel road in Canyon Lake, tucked away in Spring Branch, or at a resort in New Braunfels, our rig is built to get to yours. It represents who we are: reliable, rugged, and ready for the road.
Our Mission
We started Moreno Mobile RV because we have been in your shoes. We know the sinking feeling of a slide-out that won't retract or a furnace that won't ignite.
We aren't just a repair service; we are fellow RVers helping you stay on the road.
If you are in San Antonio, Boerne, or the Hill Country, give us a call. Let us handle the repairs so you can get back to enjoying the view.
